IL-2 Sturmovik: Odessa and Leningrad Release

82 years ago, on January 27th, 1944, the Leningrad siege has finally ended after 872 days. In honor of this date, we released our largest Great Battles module in three years on the same day: Odessa and Leningrad - Siege and Liberation.
The Odessa and Leningrad: Siege and Liberation focuses on important battles from the beginning and end of the war, namely the sieges of Odessa and Leningrad in 1941 and their subsequent liberation in 1944. Not one, but two large maps, 8 new aircraft and the Pilot's Career mode at these two theatres of war await you.
The Odessa map includes parts of the Ukrainian and Moldavian SSRs, as well as Romania, and the Leningrad map includes parts of Finland and the Leningrad region. The city of Leningrad itself turned out to become the largest and the most detailed city recreated in our sim.
The included aircraft are suitable for the 1941 and 1944 timeframes at these theaters of war.
As has always been the case with our previous theaters of war, we will continue to refine and improve it after its official release. These timeframes are included already:

Defense of Odessa (August 11th - October 16th, 1941)

Leningrad Blockade (September 26th, 1941 - January 6th, 1942)

Odessa 1944 (June 9th - August 19th, 1944)

These timeframes will be gradually expanded: the fourth one will be added, and together they will contain 15 (!) chapters. New chapters will be added with each update till the end of summer of 2026 and the number of seasons for the Gulf of Finland will be increased to five to allow for the expanded timeline.

Odessa and Leningrad is now available on our website and on Steam.
In addition to Odessa and Leningrad, there are news on the Western Front, too: a new historical campaign has been released, based on the war diary of 401 Squadron RAF Canada during the Battle of Normandy. You will lead a section of Spitfires from the 401st Squadron of the 126th Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Along with attacks on various ground targets, in the summer of 1944, the squadron's pilots engaged in several successful, large-scale air battles, laying the foundation for the future glory of the most effective unit of the 2nd Tactical Air Force. The campaign will culminate in missions to destroy the encircled German forces in the Falaise Pocket.

The new campaign is available on our website and on Steam.
